Presenter Information

Robert Brazzell Esq.

Description

When dealing with complex assessment issues it is critical to act with professionalism and to ensure that you are providing or receiving effective representation. Drawing on extensive experience the panel will discuss the key elements of providing representation in complex assessment disputes. Those involved must recognize their role as advocate, expert witness or fact witness and leverage opportunities for collaboration to ensure the most positive result possible. Recognition by each participant of their roles and responsibilities and collaboration between and among the parties is essential to success in complex litigation. Litigation project management has developed in the last few years and attorneys and assessment professionals are increasingly applying construction and technology industry concepts. When managing large projects these concepts help ensure that the parties are served effectively and superior results are achieved. From client reporting to trial presentation effective communication is essential. As will be reviewed this skill requires practice and the application of the 7 C's of communication. Finally, effective representation is dependent on having the resolution skills and knowledge to resolve a dispute without protracted litigation when the opportunity arises. Good representation means winning when necessary but creating acceptable resolutions that make everyone accept the solution where possible.
