Description
This session will cover facts that conservation easements have added tremendous value to land preservation in the United States. We will discuss the taxable status of this property type, along with including a presentation of states who offer reductions in property taxes due to the conservation easements and that policies of taxable status vary widely among the states. We will discuss whether a conservation easement increases the subjects’ property value and conclude the session with a review of the effects of conservation easements on surrounding property values.
