Description
Margie Cusack, IAAO Research Manager will discuss emerging trends and technologies in the assessment industry. Topics will include the development of integrated relational databases shared among property tax offices, open data portals and data sharing, online document filing and the opportunities of new online GIS tools. GIS applications developed by Cook County, Illinois to facilitate the administration of local property tax, maintain parcel identification and spur economic development will be highlighted as an innovative case study. Lessons learned from the comparative analysis of valuation systems by IAAO members will also be shared and their influence on IAAO future collaborations and offerings. On line inquiry tools of the IAAO library and additional library services will also be highlighted. IAAO research initiatives will be discussed and suggestions for future projects will be considered in an open discussion among audience members.
