General Session Description

In this workshop we will walk through the entire process of creating multiple types of machine learning algorithms to predict property values and how to evaluate their performance. We will explore the necessary steps for preprocessing the data for the machine learning models and even how to create data encoders. In addition we will create multiple machine learning models, and compare the performance of these machine learning models. To follow up with we will lightly look into the effects of hyperparameters on machine learning models. Lastly we will examine other types of machine learning models and applications that can be utilized in mass appraisal. This workshop will focus on using open source Python libraries such as but not limited to NumPy, pandas, and scikit-learn.
