General Session Description
This hands-on workshop introduces the basics of ratio studies in Excel using plain, practical language. Participants will learn how to check for horizontal and vertical equity following IAAO standards, using simple Excel functions - no programming required. The goal is to move beyond just calculating statistics to understanding what they mean, so assessors can defend their valuations confidently and spot where inequities or data issues exist. By learning how to interpret these patterns, participants will be better equipped to focus their time, budget, and staff where improvements are needed most, reducing costly surprises and rework during future revaluations.
