Brief Abstract

Models are built to replicate decisions and behaviors for specific markets. While there are some commonalities that allow model structures, data transformations, code and even adjustment coefficients to be used across jurisdictions, most markets have unique features and dynamics that prevent simply porting a model from one area to another. This presentation discusses the importance of seeking out and understanding the 'secret sauce' that drives each market, and presents examples of both portable and non-portable model elements.

Finding the secret sauce: The portability or non-portability of regression models
