Brief Abstract

This session explores a practical approach to data collection and smart city applications to highlight how modern, GIS-enabled technologies support operational efficiencies across multiple departments. New advancements in software, street level imagery, LiDAR, and artificial intelligence support the rapid creation of accessible digitized environments that improve digital workflows, telework functionality, and public visibility. This session highlights recent and successful efforts by City of Las Vegas to execute a city-wide data collection project. From defining challenges and navigating the budgeting and buy-in process, to implementing solutions and the impact on staff, hear from the consultant and agency manager on how such initiatives improve City operations.
