Brief Abstract
American Indians hold some 86,000 square miles of land across the United States. The presentation will provide an overview of the role of the US government on how this land and the income it generates are managed and on the history leading to the Land Buy-Back Program. The challenges associated with introducing mass appraisals into an established appraisal organization will also be discussed, as well as the opportunities available to the mass appraisal community.
