General Session Description
In 2024, Cook County’s audit exposed fairness and compliance issues in commercial property valuations, citing inconsistent methods, poor data sharing, and underassessment. Since then, the President’s Office, Assessor, and Board of Review have collaborated on reforms. This session will be a panel discussions with all parties and the initial researcher that completed the commercial valuation study. This panel will explore what progress has been made, the challenges in aligning offices, and strategies used to restore confidence and transparency.
