Brief Session Description
Utilizing modern geospatial data sets with innovative analytic methods, the fields of remote sensing and data science provide new opportunities for the automated mass assessment and extraction of physical features of buildings. This presentation will review and categorize current trends in the remote sensing literature regarding automated building extraction from geospatial data and present two innovative case studies from the New York City Department of Finance on building change detection using Lidar and Machine Learning methods.
