Abstract
Washoe County was one of the pioneers in creating a seamless countywide GIS in 1984. In this article, the Washoe County Assessor’s Office and the Washoe County Information Technology Department-GIS Division impart the lessons leaned attempting to develop a GIS, the need to regroup to create a better GIS, the struggle with old CAMA software, and the processes currently under way to achieve full integration of GIS and CAMA.
