Golf course, Mass appraisal techniques
Abstract
Appraisal manuals provide only limited information about mass appraisal of golf courses, usually addressing only the privately owned daily-fee public courses. They generally ignore the overbuilt, top-of-the-line, private and semiprivate nonprofit country clubs with which assessors often are concerned. A mass appraisal technique must be used when it is necessary to appraise many types of golf courses in a consistent manner. It consists of fifteen characteristics of courses that are rated using a point system. The Quality Index allows a golf course classification to be confirmed with hard numbers.
