Description
E-discovery, or electronic discovery, involves two related concepts: discovery of electronically stored information (ESI). and use of computer search tools to sift through ESI to determine what is relevant. ESI has broad similarities to paper information in discovery in the sense that it must be located, reviewed by counsel for responsiveness and issues of privilege, provided to the other side, and reviewed by them for their purposes. However, ESI has fundamental differences.
