Brief Abstract
The National States Geographic Information Council (NSGIC) Parcels and Land Records Workgroup has been working on a collaborative GIS approach to assess the current availability and quality of digital GIS parcel data across the country. This presentation and panel discussion will highlight the outcome of that assessment. It will also focus on the collaboration of local stakeholders, parcel data creators, counties, and states. These partnerships provide a mechanism to roll-up authoritative, digital parcel data and creates a path for the future development of standardized, aggregated GIS parcel data at the national level. The benefits of open parcel data to all levels of government and the public will also be discussed.
